amravati airport developement
if the developement of amravati airport is given to a tortoise it will construct a airport in amravati quickly but maharastra government will take time as they won't give fund so easily in vidharbha. tortoise doesn't work on the basis of my area or other area,i.e western maharastra, vidharbha. please change the cabinet of maharastra government as it is against developement of vidharbha.

Please do the developement of vidharbha as early as possible otherwise entire vidharbha will become like gadchirolior chattisgarh where the home minister, chief minister does not dare to visit any place be cause of the naxalite problem, if they go , they go with the help of 5000 -10000 police personle and commondos, this is waht is is called poor decisions,administration, management. to stop naxalism developement is the only way in that particular region, not like allowing andhra to construct dam on wardha nd wainganga for the benefit of telangana in andhra and to allowa andhra to collect water from the rivers of vidhrbha maharastra, maharastra government is taking one by one wrong decisions for vidharbha best eaxample is allowing andhra to construct dam which will submerge atleast 50 -60 villages in chandrapur and gachiroli district and also the agricultural land in these districts.

I tried updating the coordinates using "32 47 11 N" as per the Israeli navigation chart on Wikipedia (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/10/FiqAerodromeChart.jpg/685px-FiqAerodromeChart.jpg) , and things kind of blew up (Chrome on Linux).

The airfield is actually located at 32.744187 35.673466, which can be found by scrolling north a bit, and clicking on the magenta airplane intended to show Al-Al Airport, OS73. These are both the same airport, but the name was changed when the Golan Heights were placed under Israeli law.

Vijayawada Airport
I see Rajahmundry bagged up a new terminal building and provides good facilities to the passengers. I have been travelling from Vijayawada from past five years and see no improvement till now. I am not sure what the parliamentarian MR Rajagopal is doing good for the Vijayawada citizens. Even it is shame for CM and many other celebrities who visit Vijayawada often.

I just passed this airport and it is definitely closed. The runway is overgrown, the tarmac cracked, the airport is unfenced and cows and sheep are desperately trying to clear the runway from shrubs and grass.

there should be white paper on each and every scheme in maharastra as western maharastra is really the big problem for the remaining maharastra ex: vidharbha,marathwada,khandesh etc. all the money is being used for the developement of western maharastra ex: baramati, pune etc, ministers like sharad pawar, ajit pawar, R R patil (aaba patil) are responsible for creating more and more backlog in vidharbha as they are providing any fund for vidharbha, even the vidharbha package was mostly used in western maharastra, there have to be CBI enquiry in this matter these ministers are directly responsible for the death of poor farmers in vidharbha region. central government have to look into this matter as the ruling CM of maharastra is of there party , CM must take proper steps to remove the all kind of backlogs of vidharbha. and must provide fund for the developement of vidharbha.

amravati is the 6 th major city in maharastra and still it is not having a operationl airport as all the money of maharastra government is being spend in sharad pawars region i.e baramati,pune (western maharastra) most of the ministers ex: chief minister of maharastra is also from western maharastra but he is the only good man who has said to show the white paper on irrigation spending in maharastra, vidharbha people are welcoming his statement on white papers on irrigation spending in maharastra.

Nice refueling
Nice moderately large airport, friendly and helpful staff. Gas 100LL (expensive as everywhere in Italy), very moderate landing fee.
Glider base
Landed there as it is just across the fence of the ITER research facility. General impression: busy, windy & French. There are hundreds of sailplanes, several clubs, many hangars, three runways (depends on how you count them). People are very friendly & helpful, but do not expect too much English there. They understand English on the radio but do not reply (neither in English nor in French), so you should look out and behave. No landing fee, no complications, but also no taxi phone numbers, no easy transportation service from the airport to the nearby Manosque. Will come back.

My name is Tom and I used to work there also (I think it was 1969 or 1970). I too think that Milt was a great guy to work for. I also remember an instructor named Rex Beach who worked there and lived in a rental near the airport. Those were the days. The Turbo-Commander I remember once belonged to R.A. Bob Hoover and I got to sit right seat with the pilot once. That was a memory that will live with me forever. By the way - if you go to the latest version of Google Earth - they have the capability to show satellite images from back to 1999. If you turn off the roads (which shows the new ones) - there is our old Berz Macomb Airport in all it's glory.

Well, this is going to be interesting, so sit back, take a breath and let's see where this ends up.
It is now after 17.00 hrs and I write this after deliberation re a phone call that I received at about lunch time about this site with much glee on the other end of the phone.
So, my name is Chris Wise and I operate out of Aldinga.
I have posted one article on this site where I did say that we should leave this all alone and enough said.
Now to the nitty gritties and let's get in the open.
I do not get on with the operators of Adelaide Bi Planes and they do not get on with me. Nor do I particularly wish to get on with them.
It is a well recognized fact within the aviation scene around South Australia, and indeed interstate by some, that they have dobbed others in to CASA without any prior "sorting it out" with what they perceive to be wrong with the alleged offender.
And yes, they did attempt to dob the delightful people, Mick and Di Hart from Port Lincoln and as am led to believe with great authority, told CASA to hide in trees and observe what goes on at the Hart's Sky Park. Not nice. Yes they did dob young Pat Crowther without any sorting it out. i.e Mate please do not come back here and do that sort of flying end of story. No grief for the Crowther family.
Yes they did, as I am reliably informed, dob me in for aerobatics below 3000 feet but saw their behind as they were unaware of the fact that I have a endorsement to 1500 feet.
Yes they did abuse some for what they perceived to be a beat up when a guy did a go around. Yes when Mr Smith came to Australia form England, they did say that our Australian flying culture is crap and that they were going to change it and yes they are, not in the manner that blends in with our delightful culture.
So I have been vocal about this in the past to the extent that the board of Aldinga Aviation had their solicitor write to me about my comments which were in no way directed to the company, but Adelaide Bi Planes.
It is my opinion that in the past some of the directors on the board of Aldinga Aviation may have been protecting them.
And of course, I am led to believe that the list goes on.
However. There has been enough bulldust posted on this site and maybe with a bit of luck Adelaide Bi Planes at Aldinga may have come to realize that the Aviators in Australia do not appreciate people going to CASA rather that sort it out. They may also finally realized that their holier than thou attitude is not wanted.
So I would suggest that if the Mob at Adelaide Biplanes have an issue with someone, then they should go to that person and address the perceived problem and if required and warranted tell the person that they are running a flying school and do not appreciate that behavior as it sets a bad example wha wha wha, They would command far more respect.
Double standards. Yes there are as any honest aviator flying out of Aldinga will tell you. I have not been there for a while so that may have changed, But not according to the post re aerobatics below 3000ft with paying passengers.
Sadly Aldinga HAS got a reputation as a place to avoid. How do I know this. I know locals and people interstate who are of the opinion that the pleasure of participating in fly ins to Aldinga is no longer a pleasure as one never knows if one will be abused or Dobbed in.
So now. Aldinga Aviation have just recently had a change within the board and we as shareholders now believe that we have a board that is there for the shareholders, not just the interest's of a privileged few who could do no wrong.
This board, now comprises of progressive and positive board members who without doubt wish to act in the best interests of the shareholders as a whole and to act for the best interests in the shareholders aerodrome, Aldinga, and to move forward constructively and fairly.
With this in mind, should there be anyone who in the future is not happy with the attitude of the tenants of the airfield, Adelaide Biplanes, then I would request;
(1) All the comments on this site now be done with. Everyone has clearly had their say and there is no more to be said.
(2) If there are any further incidents whereby aviators who operate at Aldinga or who fly in to Aldinga, that may occur between them and Adelaide Biplanes which is not cosha, then please in the 1st instance for all to act as sensible grown ups and solve the problem amongst themselves without anyone running to CASA.
(3) Should there be any occasions where somebody considers that they have been victimized or dobed in or any such like by the tenants, I would urge those people to write to our board who will, I can assure you, take the middle road and adjudicate fairly.
This keeps it all nice and tidy and with a bit of luck we can all move forward in a friendly progressive manner. (Except for Adelaide Biplanes and myself) They leave me and my mates alone, I leave them alone.
I read the article about the anonymity of the internet and decided to show my testicular fortitude and have my say and to me, that's the end of it. Let's move on and see what happens.

As for this grass strip, it's restricted, and in a very decent conditions - just overflew it two days ago, looked very nice and landable. Loved the runway numbers cut in the grass, cool touch! :-)
