re: Flight France > Gabon with microlight BRM Citius

Hi,

No internet address available so far. Use phone instead, but beware they don't speak anything but spanish. AFAIK MOGAS is available but better check, airfield is actually in the middle of nowhere and I'm not sure any gas station is available in the vicinity. I use AVGAS and was forced to refuel in Jerez.

FPL may be submitted by phone, but if you fly to Morocco you have to pass custom in Jerez (Morocco is not Schengen area).

Reply to @lsalv: thanks a lot for the information regarding Trebujena airfield. I intend to have a stop over next month (mid-april 2012) before going to Tanger - Morrocco. Can I file a flight plan to Morrocco by phone (Jerez twr). Is mogas available at the airport or do I have to go to gas station ? have you the internet address of airport manager. thanks and regards. Michel.

airport quality

* The terminals stink of numerous foul odors at all times. (You can even see the military security agents smoking while standing under signs that forbid it.)

* Gate changes occur more than 75% of the time and delayed flights a higher percentage.

* The air traffic controllers "double stack" the flights to make their breaks longer. Double stacking is an illegal and unsafe practice where the runway isn't cleared before the next plane begins its final approach. If there were an equipment malfunction with a plan which has already landed that would keep it from being moved from the runway, a collision would be likely.

* Visas are a nightmare. There is no line/queue despite the illusion set forth by the digital signs. The visa agents will leave while processing a visa if it is time for a break or shift change, leaving the passenger in limbo.

* All alcohol is strictly forbidden (for non-Kuwaitis). Even bringing a small wine bottle off the plane can land an unsuspecting passenger in prison. At best, it will be confiscated (to later be sold or consumed by the arresting officer).

My advice... avoid Kuwait at all costs! Don't even land for a connecting flight unless there is no possible way to avoid it.

old data

Wataniya Airways is now defunct after the group of Kuwaiti "business" men left travelers stranded all over the world without a minute's notice and then refused to refund any portion of the fares already collected by the airline.

My Experience

From my point of view all these comments are correct. I flew in from Cessnock with my wife just under a year ago for 14 days holiday based in McLaren Vale (beautiful wines and country), we also did some local flying including a 2 day trip to Kangaroo Island (must see). Yes there was certainly some chaos in the circuit and I experienced poor / non-existent communications with other aircraft, it is certainly not the safest place I have flown to, but it was manageable with a diligent lookout. The little shop/ flying school had good food; the people were friendly and helpful. However over the period of our stay, we met several local pilots, some based at Aldinga and other’s from the surrounding areas and Kangaroo Island, from which we gained several perspectives and stories. Too many consistent stories from different pilots to just ignore as the odd disgruntled pilot, not everyone had a bad word to say about the flying school operators however about 80% of the pilots we met were of the same general opinion that these people cannot be trusted and have double standards. Several of the pilots I met had been approached or fined by CASA for incidents dobbed in by the flying school operators without every talking to them first (I don’t understand this, in Cessnock if you do something silly or wrong usually one of the instructor or experienced pilots will have a word in your ear and leave it at that, anyway that’s how we roll in NSW). Overall we had great experience in SA however the stories did make me very wary of the flying school operators.

By the way

Just read the comment about cowboy flying.

The only dangerous flying that takes place at Aldinga is by the operators themselves.

Terrible circuit procedures and a RECORDED number of near misses due to their "Can do no wrong attitude"

The lady who cannot fly but who runs the place and berates and looks to persecute those that she perceives to have done something wrong, is of the opinion, in her one eyed view, that they the operators are SSSSOOoooo so safe, but all the others that dare fly in there are nowhere near as safe as they are.

For one who cannot even fly, her attitude and interference with real aviators is woeful and leaves an awful lot to be desired.

Picture of

Flier beware

If you intend to fly into Aldinga.

Be so at your own risk of;

(1) Bad circuit manners and procedures.

(2) Bad manners and the risk of being abused for something that the operators do not like.

(3) Highest avgas prices. Higher than Goolwa and other aerodromes who pay cartage where Aldinga do not. Rip off prices.

(4) Do something wrong, and you will not be approached to "Sort it out and clear the air" You can expect a call from CASA.

Makes one wonder why they are in the aviation business when the act like self appointed industry regulators and policeman.

Bad attitude toward the Australian aviators and Australian flying culture.

Should go back to the UK where they came from and practice their pedantic crappy outlook on their own countrymen.

Come to Australia and try and tell Australians how it should be done. Huh. we have a proud aviation history.

There are only two International flights from Middle East.

Why there are not many International Flights to & from Jaipur? There is not even one from Far East.

re: Bureau of Immigration (BI) Officer Michael Vincent Dizon

Hope this can help, All Philippine Consulates in Asia offer a service to provide...Duly Notarized Letter of Invitation (Affidavit of Invitation) from a Sponsor Abroad..

Even with all the documents that you supplied, the person leaving PI may or may not get stopped by immigration.

Take a look at the Philippine Consulate for Malaysia - look under consulate services - h---://---.philembassykl.org.my/

re: Were's the VOR?

Reply to @david: I've got a VOR with the id PVR named "VALLARTA" at 20.673094,-105.257497. I think the frequency is 116.6.

re: Were's the VOR?

I'd be very grateful for the information about the VOR (latitude, longitude, identifier, name, frequency, etc.) so that we can add it to the database.

Encouragement !!!

I believe there is nothing to say about its appreciation but i would suggest it should be international in real as i don't think any international flights are flying from Multan. I think the reason being is there is no load of people flying to or from Multan. But being a city that is famous for mangoes specially and for it's sweet called sohan halwa there has need to make it international so that we could transport them easily without any hassle of sending them to big cities like lahore, islamabad or karachi. Finally i would like to say Multan is the biggest city in the southern Punjab. Surrounded by many well known cities like Bahawalpur, khanewal, muzafargarh,D.G khan and many others so taking all those cities into notice and looking at their population we should think there needs to have some real International Airport. So the people will not have to travel all the way to Lahore, islamabad or karachi and they will fly right from their neighbouring city.

Looking for more info

Does anyone know if there are NDB's, VOR's, ILS's or communication radio frequencies associated with Yubileyniy? I would like to compile as much complete information about this airport as possible so that I can create a scenery package for X-Plane. Other information that would be useful: Runway approach lighting type, and runway edge lights.

I would like to compile as much complete information about this airport as possible so that I can create a scenery package for X-Plane. Other information that would be useful: Runway approach lighting type, and runway edge lights. Also, I have seen references to an ICAO code of UAOL for this airport. Can this be verified?
