I visited the park on the old airport site today. I'm sad that it closed, but it's still worth a visit: people use the runways for cycling, jogging, rollerblading, and kite-surfing, and for a pilot (or aviation fan), it's interesting being able to walk up to the hold-short line for 27R, then on along the runway.

I landed at Tegel this week, so clearly it's still open, despite the comment I left 7 1/2 years ago. As the Wikipedia article mentions, walking distances are extremely short — in less than 5 minutes, I was off the plane and in a cab.
A taxi to my hotel near the Heinrich-Heine Straße U-Bahn station was €35, which is a bit pricey. I have since discovered that there is an express bus "TXL" that takes 41 minutes from Alexanderplatz to Tegel (or vice versa). Not an exciting town but friendly people and friendly airpor
Was recently weathered over here for two days. Cab fair into town is 30.00 each way. The Holiday Inn Express is nice but a little expensive. The Comfort Inn across the road is almost as nice and 50.00 a night cheaper. The Esso dealer at the airport is very friendly and helpful. The 100LL was reasonably priced but not great. There is a COPA discount but make sure you have your card. There was no landing fees and no tie down fees.
Simple and friendly
Arrived here on a Sunday afternoon. Nobody was a round from the airport but a local resident came by to check us out. He gave us a ride into town to get lunch. Gas is self serve and on the honour system. Call ahead and they will tell you where the key is. You then run your own Visa transaction and write it into a book.

they saw 2 light bulbs on my check in luggage, they are asking for a money to allow me bring those bulbs.the authority should be posted all prohibited items before that xray. i have no idea why bulb is not allowed or maybe these people making their own rule for milking pasengers.I'll call them BUWAYA SA AIRPORT!!!

Great spot
Runway is in decent condition. About 5 min. after shutting down I saw a black bear cross the runway. Fish and Chips in town are a must. They will shuttle you to and from for free. Be aware there is now a $5 landing fee. Its nothing, but be aware of it.

Best to call in on 123.4 before landing to keep clear of landing gliders. Left hand circuits. The strip is 4,000' long - 26 and 08. Quite smooth for a grass strip.

I'm just wondering what goes on over there, what is that airfield for really? Are there any planes flying in or out of it regularly? Is it an airport? Any scheduled domestic flights? Any info will be much appreciated, thanks in advance

New FBO
There's a new FBO at the end of Juliet threshold 24R called H-18 i think. They only serve Jet-A, but they offer the best service on the field. Pascan is crowded with their own airplanes and they rarely have hangar space available. h18 saved me this winter, they gave me an amazing price, even though I was in a 172 and couldn't buy fuel from them. Definitely a place to check out. And they are only 15 minutes driving from downtown!

Power Lines
The power lines are on Eastern Threshold...Sorry. I think it is Runway 28 from memory, and probably 100m to 500m...Not a big problem but don't come in too low, especially in low light.

I visited in July 2014. Very friendly airport run by father and son team Ed and Mike. Landing fee and parking for three nights came to Euro 67.

Drone prototypes continue to be developed and tested in Mexico. In other words, advanced unmanned commercial systems might as well have nowhere to fly at all. The industry is moving forward. Mexico will be the first country with drone airport, the very first flight, testing and training site.
delayed flight
my daughter and three others were due to fly back to Ireland/Dublin last nite landing in Dublin airport for 23.00 irish time but in t middle of flight tom 1239 take off on runway t plane broke dead on the runway due to plane manfuntion all passengers were taken off flight tom 1239 and taken back to terminal in which were left there for quite awhile before taken them then onto a hotel accommodation for the night now this morning they were to be collected by bus at 10.00 greek time when all ready and waiting to be informed that the bus would not be arriving till 12.30 greek time.Im afraid to say but this Is not good enough when 4 persons were to return to work today theses 4 passengers Marguerite Dowling,Martin o Connor, Ally o Connor, Niamh Mc Kenna are out of pocket and running low in money in which they still have to spend reason been they were given a breakfast that would not in their eyes fit for a dog. I went into Nuku airport in 1969 to visit Ignas Wunum.
May have been a Brittan Norman Islander.
Landing consisted of a turn in front of the hill running at right angles to the strip and then gunning it up hill to land near the terminal.
Got out and threw up.

Do not be daunted by the published runway length of 150 metres - there are longish extensions each way, and the lawn is tended better than any golf course could be. Totally unobstructed approaches, too, but do mind the unavoidable ubiquitous difficult neighbours, as mentioned in the a/d documents. Do consult the website, and mind the PPR.

A very nice place...
We were delighted with our recent visit to Pagosa Springs. The airport is nice and the runway long and wide. There is self-serve fuel and a bathroom in case the FBO is closed.
We stayed at the Sky View Motel, not the fanciest place in town, but were willing to pick us up and drive us around town a bit. They even have complimentary beer and a continental breakfast/snack! SkyViewpagosa.com 970-264-5803.
Pagosa Springs should be on everyone's bucket list. A wonderful little community nestled against the mountains, with great things to do Summer or Winter.
Dropzone in the forest
600 meter landing strip. Very friendly skydiving dropzone. There's a camp site, bunk house, common area with a bar and a small kiosk where you can buy food.
