Thank you for posting this! We where just making a deal for an English bulldog when we read this! The owner promised us a safe arrival of our puppy and said it would be delivered by starpetmovers! After reading this we put an immediate stop to the deal and looked the email address up on facebook leading us to his page which indicated he is not a dog owner will never be a dog owner and a broke liar! We will not be doing any dealings with Lonko bull!

This guy has been emailing me trying to give me a mini pig. The shipping is $75 and the pig is free.. too good to be true?? i think so!!! I googled his address, and it showed a parking lot. I kept asking a lot of questions and he kept skipping around them. Also, when I asked for a picture of the pig, I got a picture which was obviously from the internet.. DO NOT BUY FROM IYAM VALERY!! if it feels too good to be true, it is! I'm so glad I googled his name and read this before I paid the shipping. as soon as I typed in Iyam, his full name popped up. Definitely not a good sign. Thank you so much!

Excellent Airport
Great runway options, excellent approach/departure and tower personnel, smooth ground operation, plenty of nearby hotels (great Marriott but many other options too). Fuel prices tend to run high on 100LL. Ramp personnel are friendly, skilled, and helpful. I currently hanger there. Have also done training there, MSN, and PDK; EVV is a great beginner and low stress class C refresher location but a little sleepy for advance traffic work. Also doesn't have anything in the way of higher performance or multi-engine training aircraft available. Community is worth the stop too; don't think Indiana corn fields but rather more Ohio River Valley hardwood forest area (big high-end furniture area).

This strip was a mess the last time I saw it...early breakup that year. Came out in a ski mod twin otter, with the mud flying all over the sides of the plane...
Back earlier, in that winter, it was fine...we used an Electra and had Herc's in all the time...we drilled a single hole and left. (dry)...
Enjoyed an afternoon tea with Dr. Kent from BP London one day while there...he was fog'ed out of his strip and stopped by to wait it out. This was the "Head Knocker" of BP Oil's Geology Dept, found oil all over the world...very interesting guy to pass some time with...

I have landed on the grass strip at Herb's on numerous occasions. The grass strip is about 500' long, with the Hwy. 34 overpass as an obstacle to the west.
The paved strip has cars and trailers parked approximately half way down the runway. They are parked there to prevent any mishaps between the incoming car / truck traffic and landing / departing airplanes.
Owners are friendly, good food, friendly staff!
BTW, I fly a Challenger II Ultralight.
Do not attempt unless you're absolutely sure you can safely get in and out of the grass strip.

Confusing aircraft placement. I've got to assume that YWIO is the same as Picton for which I can not find an airport code. The map is so close.

are you sure you where scammed. such thing happen and when it does i presumed you sue that company. Death during transportation can't be avoided reason why you pay for insurance. i will advice you demand a refund or preferable sue that company in court. i know that company and they successfully delivered my Yorkie from Algeria to the states, so double check what you are talking about.
Snowy Owls seen at airports in Ontario
Hi, I am currently looking for Snowy Owls. They seem to be a bit late this year (2011). These white owls love airports and use them for hunting grounds. If anyone sees one could you let me know. Once can also land in the nearby salt pan (all fences have been removed from within the salt pan).
Most bushes have been cleared along the main road cutting through the farm yielding many possible emergency landing opportunities.
The cross runway cannot be seen on the map above.
Great place to land in the Kalahari, accomodation is available, so is transport to Windhoek and the International Airport.
This place is also a great guest farm in Namibia, (Gaestefarm).

It looks like a forest and, yeah, it is a forest and definitively not a heliport.
Maybe the heliport of the hospital about a km west was meant, although that one is not open to public.

I then received e-mail from the owner selling me the puppy that said there were complications when he was flown and the money wasn't for insurance it was a vet bill to keep my puppy alive. They then told me the puppy had died while on the flight. The Starpet Movers contact who is Thomas Gadner has now had his phone disconnected and nobody will return my e-mail. I am scared and don't know what to do, I am out $400. Please help if anyone knows what to do"
There is nothing you can do. You are out $400 that you will not get back. Keep in mind the "puppy" doesn't exist. This is a well-known pet scam out of Cameroon Africa that is all over the internet. ALL OFFERS OF PETS FROM CAMEROON AFRICA ARE SCAMS, WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS.
Elevation
Just got an email from a user of the CoPilot iPhone app saying that the elevation isn't 118 ft, it's closer to 500 ft. I wonder if that means it's really 118 metres? If you go to the terrain map you see an unlabeled contour line and then another labeled 200 m as you head uphill from the airport.

Some Companies have "Unknown"
Why do some companies, eg Iberia have "unknown" and I have been told that it was due at 10.50 and 11.20. Now I wonder if it arrived and whether one must go and pick-up the passenger that we expect to arrive today
