Customs at HPN

I'm planning to fly into HPN from Canada this Sunday, so I called to find out about service at 914-428-7858. They need two hours notice (plus an eAPIS), and you taxi to Jet Systems (Signature?) next to the tower after landing. Hours seem to be 06:00–20:00 local weekdays, 12:00–20:00 local weekends, but call to confirm. They can also do after-hours with four hours notice, but I suspect there would be a call-out charge.

judge for yourself

This message is for anyone who is thinking about visiting Aldinga or doing flight training with Adelaide Biplanes. In short, don't listen to anything you read on here, instead go and judge for yourself. These comments give a very false view on what really happens at Aldinga. The vast majority find it to be a great airfield, home to a very professional flight school with a great array of different aircraft. A significantly better option both in terms of cost and quality than anything you will find at Parafield. This is coming from someone who has trained at Aldinga after trying many different options.

FUEL

As a light aircraft pilot considering a trip to Gronholt it would have been useful to know whether 100LL is available. An indication of landing fees would also have been helpful.

That said, thanks for the info.

So far the NOK air has stopped the flights to Buriram Airport. A short phone call to the customer service I was informed that the flights will later continue.

TSA screening

I do not see any other place to leave any commentary about the airport experience. This was my first time outside the airport, experiencing Dallas, going through security on the return today (4 pm) we had our fingernail clippers confiscated?!! REALLY...you know you cannot disagree with the TSA agent but that guy was ignorant and stupid and probably had dirty nails...he thought it was a knife...REALLY IGNORANT... and RUDE... and after three screenings and an examination of standard fingernail clippers, he said "we will have this destroyed (melted down)" Expletives not uttered but rolling around my mind these many hours later...we will fly through Dallas and not leave the airport in the future, and buy some new fingernail clippers tomorrow.

A great place to fly, the only thing bad about this airport is the thermals from the forest to the east on runway 17/35

gilmercedesmontilla@yahoo.com

Pres Erap knew its importance and we had the advantage but we just let go of it , lousy local politicians made it difficult for it to happen because they think putting it in Silay spells doom to bacolod , such thinking is for unprogressive people, they never thought that someday Silay would be part of a metropolitan bacolod, and they let our rival city with their senator son make a good head start making it more difficult so the rest was history and made us second fiddle all the way to the end

Long Parking Facility at Chennai Airport

hi I would like to know if we have a facility of parking for long hours/days at chennai airport, and what would be the charges applicable.

Please advice on this one.

Picture of

No scheduled services to this airport

Despite what is said in the Pilot Info section, there are no scheduled services to this airfield. It is occasionally used to take flights from Eilat or Ben Gurion if either of those airports is closed or for security considerations. Ovda is an Israeli Air Force base.

Picture of

Surface

Prevailing wind is from the south-east. A drainage ditch has been dug around the north end in April 2014 by Medecins Sans Frontieres, who have a hospital alongside the airstrip. They are also regularly resurfacing and levelling the airstrip, which is made of local soil that becomes very slippery when wet and easily allows sinking. They have regular flights by Cessna Caravan, and in April 2014 have also received an Avro Andover and a Fokker 27 and 50, though these larger aircraft attempt landing only after at least one full day without rain. Samaritan's Purse land their DC3 here, and the UN/WFP regularly use Caravans and Twin Otters.

Picture of

Updated runway condition April 2014

This is a private runway now and permission must be obtained from the owner. The details are in the AOPA or country airstrip guide. I landed and took off from the east/west runway with ease in my RV7. There are rocks protruding from the surface, but is still fine for light aircraft. This is a narrow strip being marginally wider than my wheels.

The owner says the North/South strip may be too rocky to use and he prefers people to use the East/West as it is longer as well.

This is current as of April 2014.

Enjoy!

Banease airport

it got better in the last year, the service is better and people are more helpful.

Picture of

Great little airport

I was there as a visitor a couple years ago, it's the home of a DeHavilland Tiger Moth, a Broussard, and other interesting aircraft. In summer, parajumpers are getting their ride in a Pilatus Porter, this is the perfect airfield for it (grass runway)

It's a real homey place, has very friendly staff and you can also get BBQ food there and just enjoy the activities from the garden restaurant.

Has a webcam too, just Google for it.
