Great airport
Nice pilot lounge and a good gas stop!
re: Balchik airport location
Corrected -- thank you.
My home airport!
Thanks for sharing the right frequencies. I live near EDDN and watch the airplanes every day and use my flighttracker (https://da-oben.de/flugradar-militaer-und-zivilluftfahrt-flugverfolger/).

Second World War
During the Second World War, this airport hosted the No. 7 Air Observer School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, and the No. 14 Elementary Flying Training School was right across the road: http://bcatp.org/139-no-7-air-observer-school/
Today, the airport is privately-operated, but still hosts the 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_Canadian_Forces_Flying_Training_School
Second World War
From 1941 to 1944, St-Hubert hosted the No. 13 Service Flying Training School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP), on the military side of the airfield that formerly served as RCAF Station St-Hubert (later CFB St-Hubert until the 1990s, when it was decommissioned).

Second World War
As RCAF Station Mont-Joli, this airport hosted No. 9 Bombing and Gunnery School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan from 15 December 1941 until 14 April 1945

Converted to solar panel field
From a problem report: "Another business has bought the airport and is now using it as a solar panel field. Nobody can access the airport unless authorized."
Airport closed
From a problem report:
Goodbye and thank you from Redlands Airfield.
After 32 years of our operating our grass strip airfield, based in the village of Wanborough to the east of Swindon in Wiltshire, we have now closed.
We would like to thank our customers and supporters for making Redlands a wonderful site for microlights and skydiving - and for the many thousands raised for charity at the airfield.

No strip visible
Originally added in 2008. No landing strip is visible in the satellite imagery, so marking as closed pending further information.
No strip visible
This landing strip was added in 2008. There is nothing visible now in the satellite imagery, so marking as closed pending further information.
Not yet visible in satellite imagery (2020-08-28)
The airport opened in 2017, but as of 2020-08-28, it is not yet visible in the satellite imagery that ESRI is kindly providing (Saint Helena is probably not a high priority for updates). You can, however, see it on the aviation charts, and on Google Maps satellite imagery: https://goo.gl/maps/ocmANAj38hMpKrHW6
Land-use question
Left as an anonymous problem report: "The airport site is not specify at this time and the people is confused ,them farmer is not plough the land ,with apologize solve this problem for short time"
Thank you to the person who pointed this out. Please note that OurAirports.com is *not* an official source of airport information, and the farmer will need to consult the local authorities in Oromia about the land's current status and whether it's OK to plough.
Tora correction

Clubhouse and visitor parking
There are two gravel-paved visitor parking spots beside the fuel pumps, directly across from the clubhouse. The clubhouse has combo access (a code visiting pilots will have no trouble figuring out), a washroom, and vending machines. There's also wifi, but I couldn't find the password posted anywhere on the wall.
Expect to hear only French on the radio in the circuit.

Airport weather
While the airport doesn't have an official METAR, a member mentioned this in a problem report:
Gimli has an AWOS. It is at www.gimliairportawos.com
Garman pilot uses CXGH as a Metar for CYGM. It is the Environment Canada weather at the town of Gimli 1.7 nm from CYGM
Still listed as open
The Canada Flight Supplement up to 10 September 2020 still lists this airport as open, with a note warning that "Rwy 10/28 and 16/34 sfcs deteriorating." From various comments, it doesn't sound practical to use, but someone is still keeping it on the books.
"Peace for our time"
This was the aerodrome where PM Neville Chamberlain arrived back from Munich on 30 September 1938, stood outside the airplane, and waved the Anglo-German declaration for the photographers. The airfield was decommissioned in 1947 when the government chose nearby Heathrow as the site for London's major post-war airport.

The runway is closed and is divided by concrete blocks in 3 sections of ~300 meters, better avoid.
Good condition
This airstrip is good condition now, it has recently been cleaned and flattened

Great airport!
Super friendly staff and great gas prices
Expensive
$40 landing fee and $50 handling fee for a single engine bonanza. Highest fees Iβve ever seen

Great spot!
Landed here for the first time today, despite having flown around Houston for 20 years. Cozy spot. Nice drop-in over the trees onto 17. Will return!

Severe restrictions apply - do not fly in blindly!!
Great Facility
Well maintained grass strip. Well worth a visit.
Good runway conditions (summer 2020)
I flex into Alexandria just after 9:00 am today. It was my first visit in over 15 years. I checked NOTAMs beforehand for paradrops, and monitored the frequency from about 20 min to to confirm there wasn't any activity.
The grass runway is mowed nice and short, but the ground underneath is slightly unevenβnot dangerously so, but you'll do a bit of dune-buggy-style bouncing over the undulations on landing, even at minimum speed, so keep the yoke back in your lap after landing in a nosedragger.
It was firm and dry, though, and even without a headwind to help, my 160 hp PA-28 needed only a bit over half of the 2,200 ft for landing and for takeoff (after backtracking).

Nice flight on a Boeing Stearman PT-13 from 1940!
They have a Boeing Stearman PT-13 from 1940 in perfect conditions (as well as a YAKOVLEV YAK-11 from 1952), and you can have a test flight in them.
Wonderful experience, definitely worth a try!
Their website is http://www.flyozzano.com/
Friendly airport
Iβve never seen so many people hanging out at a GA field!
Agree on the hard to find
I also could not easily find this airport until I was right over it
Smoothest asphalt around!
Landed here tonight just to see what this airport was all about. Name probably comes in part from the golf course just to the north of the field. Smoothest runway ever.
Welcome to CYPD
Celtic Air took over operating CYPD three years ago. Commercial aircraft ramp fees vary from 200.00 to 400.00, commercial landing fees top out based on MTOW at about 85.00 for a Challenger 350. Private aircraft can expect up to a 25.00 landing fee. Given that the airport exists solely on these fees, we hope everyone can manage with them. Call us at 902-625-2206 if you have any questions.
Great controller
Dealt with a storm popping up over the field right before takeoff, when we finally did depart the controllers really helped navigate the cells
