it's around 5 years still the sanctioned airport modernisation/developement is pending in amravati city which is the second biggest city in vidarbha and 6 th largest city in maharastra, still backward as no airport developement and no inecetive from maharastra government to bring and facilitate industries in amravati sez.shame on the partiality being done with vidarbha,nagpur,amravati regions of maharastra by the maharastra government.so please give us seperate state of vidarbha .

International flights
When will International flights to Singapore/Hong Kong/Malaysia commence? Then Mangaloreans living in countries other than Middle East can travel directly to Mangalore instead of landing at Mumbai or Bangalore. This will be really helpful for people who travel from such a long distance changing flights, suffering jet lag and having a lot of luggage especially women travelling alone or with small children and disabled or old age people.

One beautiful airport
Best thing about Golden airport its is location - simply gorgeous! The town itself looks a bit beaten by today's economy, but still cute.
Approaches are wide open, though terrain is quite high and circuit looks pretty "interesting" on the downwind. Look for the electric station, cables and posts while on short final northbound. Nothing special, obstacles clearly marked - just don't come in too flat.
Active helicopter traffic, so stay on the radio - and these guys are professionals! Hangglider and paraglider ramp on the mountain SE of the airport - like a huge bald spot near the top - with corresponding activity. Keep an eye on them while flying towards Alberta, following the published VFR route
Friendly and clean FBO, runway and the ramp in good conditions. Pleasure to visit.
Lost camera
On Sept. 26,2013 I lost my small. purple metallic Nikon Cool Pics camera in the airport with all my photos of the two weeks I spent in Peru. Needless to say, I am heart broken and am hoping beyone hope that it was found and turned in to airport. Travel company said they contacted the airport but I am still trying. There is a reward for it's return, no questions asked as long as photo card is in tact. I flew on TACA Airlines from Juliaca to Lima leaving at approx. 11:00 AM. If anyone can spare the time to look, please let me know?

August 28, 2013: (11.10) flight OU 381 Croatia Airlines from Rome Fiumicino (FCO) to Split (SPU) with a Dehavilland Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. So, (13.00) flight from Split Resnik (SPU) for ZraΔna luka Zagreb (ZAG) Croatia. Zabreb airport is small but full of essential elements, efficient, clean and well organized. At the exit stop is always ahead of at least one of the Croatia Airlines bus which transposed the passengers to the terminal Autobusni kolodvor of Zagreb comfortably and on time. Very well. The day I landed here I got a great workout with a 25 mph direct cross wind. So windy when I needed to leave, I decided to use a farmers field not the airstrip. Small crop duster strip. Decent pilot lounge.

Closest AVGAS / Mogas supply for LICD Lampedusa Airport
Lampedusa is a small Italian island close to the Tunis and Libya FIR boundary. It is actually inside the Malta FIR and is situated approximately 95 Nm south/southwest of Malta. There is only AVTUR/JetA1 on Lampedusa. The closest supply of AVGAS/Mogas is at Malta LMML. Flying from Malta to Lampedusa typically takes 1 hour cruising at 95-100 Kts. So it can safely and easily be reached from Malta flying a heading of roughly 255. Apporaching Lampedusa (about half way there) be aware of the smaller island of Linosa about 20 Nm to its North which usually comes into view first and can be easily mistaken from a distance. There is no airstrip at Linosa.
Another island in this group is Pantelleria situated about 130Nm to the West/North West of Malta. This has 2 rwys but again only AVTUR/JetA1 - NO AVGAS. Pantelleria is the closest of the 3 islands to Sicily and also in the Malta FIR.

Coffs Harbour Airport is one of the largest and busiest regional airports in NSW. Passenger numbers have increase from 270,000 to 340,000 in the past 5 years. The airport passenger terminal has recently been upgraded and has daily flights to Sydney served by Qantaslink, Virgin Australia and Tigerair Australia, daily flights to Brisbane served by Brindabella Airlines and twice weekly flights to Melborune served by Virgin Australia. traffic patterns
When Griffiss was an active military base, the traffic pattern was kept to the north side of the runway: Left traffic for r/w 15 and right traffic for r/w 33. This kept the low flying aircraft away from the Rome Hospital andresidential areas of the town. Nowadays, it seems there is no traffic pattern of any kind with C-5s and C-17s roaring over the town and hospital at what appears to be lower than normal altitudes. What's going on? Are the old traffic patterns no longer published?

Runway is a dirt strip 1000 feet by 50. Trees down both sides with 50 foot Hydro lines 250 feet from the north end of the runway. Strip is muddy in the rainy times.
