What was the problem?
My Memories of Nepalgunj Airport.
I was a VSO volunteer in Nepal in 1979. We were based at the Agricultural Research Institute on the Airport Rd. My first view of the airport was coming into land in March onboard a UN Pilatus Porter. We touched down on the mudstrip and got out and wow the heat really hit me 40degrees. There was only the control tower which was the building and a few sheds. It was rummoured that a few planes would almost touch the barbed wire on landing. When the moonsoon rains came the airport was shut,that year was a bad year with several of our favourite teashops flooded and destroyed. How things look to have changed! Good luck Nepalgunj.

I'm trying to find the name of the person who recently cut the airstrip in Jul 2013. I own a nearby one-acre field in Port Washington which desperately needs cutting and can't find anyone to do it.

The runway at Polykastro airfield is 18/36 and is in excellent condition, the length is 1.000 meters long and 23 meters wide, asphalt. The wind usually blowing from the north or south, never x-wind

Transit passenger facilities
Passangers transiting through Chennai airport are asked to sit outside on the pavement when their connecting flight has more that 2 hours gap. I took an International flight from Delhi to Singapore via Chennai and back. Both the times I had to wait with my family outside the terminal for several hours because the security people would not let us in as the gap between the flight was more than 2 hours. No amenities, no drinking water, heat and dust, the managent of Chennai Airport is the worst. They claim to be an ISO certified organisation - what a shame !

1. Metz Frescaty is LFSF. I'm not sure that it is closed. The air base is closed but I believe there are still flying clubs there.
2. Nancy Essey is not closed. It is fully active with a nice ILS approach: LFSN. Simply there is no more commercial liners.

Density altitude
I got checked out here last week. It was only 80F and the density altitude was already above 9000 ft! It took most of the lake to fly a pattern - be careful on warm days!
It is completely worth it if you're careful. Beautiful, and you're right in the middle of town.

My great grandfather earl mosier made it for an airport and eventually we moved in and he stopped flying in and out of it but it is now closed down because my family the bertoldi a currently live there and my mother Cindy mosier is his grand daughter. Just thought somebody would want to here some interesting family history of this airport,my house.

The Richmor FBO (soon to change owner) is in a delightful ex-military building. Excellent good service on 3 flights getting around NYC.

As of June 2013 the airport is in great shape (Flightline First is a lovely FBO). The best way to arrive at a still-great city.

Nung last flight ko po pauwi mg Philippines from Florida, USA. Nagkaroon po ako ng problema regarding sa baggage inspection. Isa po yung maleta ko sa mga nabuksan at nainspect(which I am aware po na possibleng mangyari) Ang hindi ko po inexpect ay nawala po yung iba kong personal belongings tulad ng sapatos, sandal at dalawa ko pong blouse na brand new lahat. I was really mad and disappointed for what happenned. Inspection po ba talaga ang nangyayari or iba na? Please have a quick action about this issue. Thanks!

Hello I'm just curious about your experience at Clark international airport going to Hong Kong..how was it? Kasi I'm planning to bring my whole family sa Hong Kong and I already bought their plane Tickets round trip. They got their passports all set and ready now as well. I'm just curious what did the customs asked you and our family during your departure from Clark to HK, kasi me I'm traveling with 6 people and I am the one shouldering all the expenses while in Hong Kong.
