Trying to locate a certain biplane.
Hello there. I live in Petersfield, Mb. I have seen a blue bi-plane flying around my area. I don't have any other info to give you. I want to contact the pilot, to see if it's possible to go up in it. I see when the pilot heads south of Petersfield when done flying around here. I'm assuming he's heading back home. My brother who is a pilot and lives by St Andrews airport, doesn't know anything about it. He helps out at the airport, and would know something about it if it's from there. I am guessing the plane is at Oak Hammock air park. Do you know of this plane? Thanks.

New future for B19
Currently the City of Biddeford is supporting the airport because they understand how much of an asset the airport is not only to the city but also to many local businesses. They are currently working on projects involving clearing the trees at both ends of the runway so that the approaches will be cleared according to FAA standards and there is speculation of redoing the runway in approx. 3-4 years after the tree clearing projects have been completed. With a little time and support from the city, this airport will probably become a destination most pilots will be visiting I the future. They are off to a great start and with the airport under new management I can see great things happening here within the near future.
Re: ZNA location
I verified the latitude and longitude against the WAS (Water Aerodrome Supplement) and they have 49.18333N,123.95W.
ZNA location
the harbour air icon on the map looks to be in someone's front yard!
Heliports look right though.

Let me try this once again.....My brother Carlyle (Kurt) Schroeder flew in and out of here once from Indianapolis, IN. He loved to fly his plane. Unfortunately he died of a massive heart attack. I am just glad it was not when he was flying his plane. He died at work very early in the morning. He was an Architect in Indiana. But we had grown up in the area. Played golf at Silver Lake Country Club. Fished on Silver Lake with our families when we were young.

Worth the trip for the Fish & Chips
Make sure you check their website about fuel availability as it isn't constant.
There is a $5 landing fee, if the attendant is there you pay him, otherwise it's on the honour system. They're trying to raise funds to redo the runway and they are currently at 150K / 990K, so don't be a jerk, and make sure you pay even if there is no one collecting.
Call Herberts and they'll pick you up and drop you off, though the walk isn't too bad ~1.5Km.
It's a very popular fly in spot so you can expect a fair bit of traffic. Communicate on the radio and keep an eye out!
You can also get fuel at Manitoulin East or Parry Sound, which are a bit cheaper.
Good spot!
Great fuel stop. 100LL was $1.99/L tax included.
Staff was friendly and helpful!

Avoid RWY 3/21
RWY 3/21 surface in poor condition. Landed RWY 26 (which is in good condition) and rather than exit on RWY 21 to access the parallel taxiway, we back-taxied on RWY 08 and exited midfield on the taxiway.
Great little airport. Fantastic buttertarts!
Known for their legendary buttertarts, be sure to add this to your list for the 100$ hamburger.
Occasional wildlife, so keep an eye out, and it's a popular training spot.
Beautiful Scenery and Nice Airport
Visited mid May, a bit of traffic. Unicom won't answer but other local pilot will help if on frequency. Airport staff is very friendly and free wifi inside for pilots use! Very good place.
Nice Airport
Very nice airport, went mid May. Not a lot of traffic and friendly Unicom-

Horrible lines
They know how many flights are coming in, why can't they staff customs properly? Had to line up upstairs before making it downstairs for a hall of more line ups. Over an hour in line. Ridiculous. I'll fly though Buffalo though I like in Toronto.
Eyes open when using.
Runway is gravel. As of May/2016 runway is in very good condition with some loose crushed rock/gravel on surface. Caution on shoulders/edges as are much softer than main operating surface of r/w. Runway is maintained by MB government Dept of Conservation for use as required as SEAT reload base. Before use, is recommended contact with Lac du Bonnet Fire Centre to obtain any required permission for access and for any know runway conditions. Use caution on t/o and landing as runway is crossed by road serving small quarry a cpl hundred metres north of runway edge. Also has been known to be used by ATVs and trail bikes. Very suitable for most a/c in size up to PA31 or Cessna 400 series or even Twin Otter....depends how much flying gravel you're prepared to risk. Lots of parking area in SE corner.Main issue to using runway would be any squirrelly cross-wind caused by relatively narrow clear-way in which r/w is situated....other than that , enjoy your flight.

well-kept airport and friendly personnel.
When we arrived, they were in the middle of a community work day, maintaining the grounds. Since they had extra food, they offered to share with us. Didn't have time, but the offer was quite generous!

Everything seemed clean and well maintained. No one seemed to mind that I was an Ultralight. Beautiful scenery all around.
STOLport
This is a unique little strip - short with a healthy incline starting at 1/2 field. Not for beginners or the faint of heart!
It is in the local practice area and the regional flight schools bring their commercial students here for STOL practice before sending them out west or overseas .
Looks very cool, and a little scary.
Adequate at best
This has not been much of an airport since the early 90s. No takeoffs after 1030 pm. (in anything!) Fuel extremely expensive. Poor TBOs.
This airport has squandered every opportunity it has ever been provided (Peterborough is now reaping those rewards)

The Town of Thessalon has recently put this airstrip up for sale. So future of the strip is unknown.
Fuddruckers on C concourse

re: Shuttle/Taxi/Limo Ground Transportation
On 4/14/16 I caught the yellow cab vehicle #494. I informed the driver that I come here often for work. Please do not try to scam me. That is the history of yellow cab and my experience at this airport. What usually cost me $50. Was already close to $70 and we still were not there. I went on the north side where all you have to do is get on the freeway and it takes me straight to my job. Usually get there in 20 to 25 minutes. He did all this extra driving around the entire airport. He went through the mountain which I have never been through in over a year that I have been coming here. This guy is a rip off. I did not allow him to rip me off. But I am sure he has done it to other. I called discount cab to return to the airport. It was a pleasant trip. I feel we should have a selection on which cab we want to use. Yellow cab drivers are a rip off. I will never get in his cab again.
Nice Airport
Seems to be very well maintained.
A very nice little restaurant with good prices.
Nice place!
Nice field and great people! There is an RAA bbq there in early June this year.
Snow Runway
Research facility, wait that should be "facility" as it's pretty basic for core drilling only and not much else out there. Runway is visible past the peaks and since drilling is done in summer there is lots of light to see by.
Charter flights
Flew in to Nord on a charter flight in the summer of 2003, the landing strip was well kept in the frozen land and even in summer it was quite cold there. Research and military personnel, no sun from mid-Nov to end of January, charters have to fly in daylight, military I heard was allowed to fly in at night..
Rip Off!
Everything from the parking to the food/drink is overpriced!
It was never that great, but has GONE DOWNHILL!
The last time I landed here was about 5 years ago and thought despite the negative reviews I would drop in recently. The recent reviews were accurate. Not certain who would buy it, but I won't be returning. St. Catharines airport is the best in the area with lots to do and good facilities! I wonder what happened on that plane crash that occurred there last year. Hushed up!
Excellent airport!
This is a great regional airport. Great views. Wide open airfield with great visibility. On field VOR and TWR. FBO (Colgan Air Services [http://colgan-air.com/]) is great to work with and has very good instructors with ground and flight school.
Beautiful Scenery
Landed here the other day, but took off fairly quickly. I wish I could have gotten out because it looks beautiful! Runway was clear and big, there was quite a few deer around the runway, we noticed once we landed. Not busy, at least when I had arrived!
Service
The staff is great but building is old
(no subject)
My family lived there from early 1950 until I was old enough to go to school. My father was a mechanic . It was a very interesting place. I remember when the garage burned down and the camp parties that were held in the common rooms. It was at the end of a very muddy road well into the 1980's It was shut down in the early 1970's. When we travelled in and out you had to check in on the open wire telephone system. When we lived there, there were only a couple of homes and a couple of rough dwellings and the majority of the staff were single men.
NOTAM.
My Trans Can approval requires that I contact the sick kids heliport manager to post a NOTAM.
How can I contact this person?
Amazing Airport
If every airport was like this one, I wouldn't complain. Quiet, gorgeous, easy to get through.
