Thanks for the comment. I don't see any sign of an active airport in the satellite picture, so I've marked it as "closed" for now, unless I find any new information.

Fortunately, Beverley Airport, a 25-minute drive to the north, loves general aviation, and even offers free customs. Logan has a great location, but Massport clearly doesn't want us using the airports it operates.

Woman, 85, claims she was strip-searched at JFK airport
An 85-year-old woman said she was injured and humiliated when she was strip-searched at an airport after she asked to be patted down instead of going through a body scanner.
Transport security officials have denied allegations by Lenore Zimmerman, who said she was taken to a private room and made to take off her clothes after she asked to forgo the screening because she was worried it would interfere with her defibrillator. She missed her flight and had to take one two-and-a-half hours later, she said.
"I'm hunched over. I'm in a wheelchair. I weigh under 110lb (50kg)," she said. "Do I look like a terrorist?"
But in a statement the Transportation Security Administration said no strip search had been carried out.
"While we regret that the passenger feels she had an unpleasant screening experience, TSA does not include strip searches as part of our security protocols and one was not conducted in this case," the statement read.
Zimmerman was dropped off by her son at JFK airport in New York for a 1pm flight on Tuesday to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on JetBlue, she said. She arrived at the ticket counter at about 12.20pm and headed for security in a wheelchair, her metal walker in her lap.
She said she had been traveling to Florida for at least a decade and had never had a problem being patted down until now. "I worry about my heart, so I don't want to go through those things," she said, referring to the advanced image technology screening machines at the airport.
As a result, she said, she was taken into the private screening room by a female agent and made to strip.
"Private screening was requested by the passenger, it was granted and lasted approximately 11 minutes," the TSA said. "TSA screening procedures are conducted in a manner designed to treat all passengers with dignity, respect and courtesy and that occurred in this instance."
The private screening was not recorded.
Jonathan Allen, a TSA spokesman, said a review of closed-circuit television at the airport had showed that proper procedures before and after the screening had been followed.
Zimmerman said she banged her shin during the process and it bled "like a pig,", partly because she is on blood-thinning medication. She said an emergency medical technician patched her up, but she was told to see a doctor when she arrived in Florida to make sure the wound did not get infected. There are no records indicating medical attention was called on her behalf.
"I don't know what triggered this. I don't know why they singled me out," she said.
Her son, Bruce Zimmerman, said: "My mother is a little old woman. She's not disruptive or unco-operative. I don't understand how this happened."
He said she had had an increasingly difficult time travelling, especially since her husband died a few years ago. She has two grandchildren and her older son, a doctor, died in 2007.

restaurant services
We found the food to be a bit bland but serviceable. The staff were pleasant and shared tales of life in the bush. Was surprised to find omelets on the menu.

This was purely a political stunt by Hari Dev Joshi, CM. He wanted an airport in his area and got it. Vayudoot was forced to operate flights from here for a short period.

Airports near Jodhpur, India
Hi,
There is an airport slightly NE off Jodhpur with rwy 20/02 and another airfield(Salawas) SE of Jodhpur. This was operational up to 1972.
I request you to add both these airport to the data base.

Missing runway?
Is it me or does 05/23 NOT exist? I didn't see any runway numbers and where one would be, the pavement looks pretty beat up. The CFS says it's paved.. but I have my doubt's that is accurate.

Runway is kept in good condition by owner. Avoid landing at tresholds due to soil degradation around numbers. Avoid turning pad at treshold 28. Water pond standing due to heavy rains.

Development of Hosur Airport
Had they developed the Hosur airport well, they could have avoided a huge expenditure in constructing Devanahalli airport....anyway that land belonged to a politician and he pressurised the Govt. into buying it at a huge cost for airport development.

Dirt Runway - Oct.2011
Myself and a friend landed here in two Flight Design CTSWs and we both got nose-wheel punctures from thorns, most likely as we taxied off the western end of the dirt runway - it has to be said that the nose tyres on these planes have little tread even when new and that our main-wheels and the wheels on other heavier aircraft did not seem to be affected.

Potch airfield is the home to Akavlieg Potcheftsroom, a prominent gliding club in South Africa. The airfield is also home to the JS factory - a 18m glider factory. This glider has performed exceptionally well in world competitions. The extra runway was never really needed for the Spaniards, but a "Lanseria" might just kill the gliding of. It might have been good if all stakeholders were considered before the big ideas started flying around.

I'm working now here in Spore for 6 months. Complete docs like SPass, contract and an OFW member. I would like to go back sa Phils. For vacation. Ang worry ko is this. Before ako pumunta dito, nahold sko sa immigration sa Clark coz of many questions ng immigration. I went here kasi as a tourist. And sa ofc ng immigration, I signed a document which is waiver yata na I should come back sa Phils. I was just lucky that time na nakaalis ako ksi nadala ko lumang passport ko na it showed na traveller din ako. My worry now is pag umuwi ako is mahold na naman ako or nde na ako makabalik dito sa Spore because dun sa pinirmahan ko na waiver. Can the immigration officer use that waiver para mahold ako sa pagbalik dito, even kumpleto na ako ng papers ko here? In fact before sana ako umuwi is kukuha na ako ng OEC ko. Gusto ko ksi mg vacation but I worry na nde na ako makabalik for my work here just because of the waiver na pinirmahan ko. Hope you can advice me.
Agreement on the odd behavior of FBO guy
I flew in once to get some gas and thought the same thing. The guy (don't remember his name) seemed all put out at having to take my money for the fuel. Can't put my finger on it but there was something just a little bit (off) about him. Other than that its a nice little fly in,...Runway could use some work.

As of summer 2011, no more fuel and the restaurant is closed. Customs and an FSS is about it. Nearest fuel, motel or restaurant is Tok.

One of the things that this site provides is a link to the official web site for the airport (if we know of it). In the case of this airport, we do have a link to it. Perhaps if you can't find what you want here, you should try the one that people are actually getting paid to maintain, instead of rubbishing the one that's done by volunteers?

For real-time arrivals and departures, however, we depend on FlightStats, which kindly lets us republish their status pages for airports that have airline service. If there are other features you'd like to see, please let us know, and I'll look into adding them (this is a volunteer/hobby site, so speed of new features depends on the time I can get free from work and family obligations).

There hasn't been a good source of international navaid data since the DAFIF stopped open distribution a few years ago, and it's wonderful news that the UK has actually commissioned a new NDB when so many are closing.
